About
Artist Statement
I enjoy being in the great outdoors and going off the beaten path to find awesome things, and that is why my concentration is in nature. The key ideas within my work are random because if I see something that looks cool or something that I could turn into something better than it is then i’ll shoot it. I don’t like to have a plan, I just like to go out and shoot. So I don’t really have any ideas, I just walk around and take photos. When I shoot I don't like to stage shots, I just shoot things as I find them. The overall purpose of my work is to have fun, learn a little bit, and explore. My inspiration to shoot these kinds of shots and shoot this way just comes from what I like to do and where I like to be.
Some photographers that I have referenced in my work include Mildred Alpern who focuses in nature also. Other references I have used have come from Michael Marker and Michael Lange. My main influence is Wayne Riser who I know and have watched him take many photos before. I’m always watching him take photos and looking at his shots to try and learn more about photography. One more influence is Michael Clark who is a Red Bull photographer and specializes in action sports and adventure. |
